The next municipal election is scheduled for Monday, October 26th 2026.
OXFORD - Oxford County's eight municipalities are teaming up to host a candidate information session, ahead of the next municipal election this fall.
This session is designed for new and returning candidates to municipal council. They will have presentations from the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, as well as Nigel Bellchamber, a municipal consultant who acts exclusively for municipalities and municipal associations.
The purpose is to help explain the basics of who is eligible, the nomination process, campaign finance rules, and more.
The event is happening virtually or in person Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Oxford County Administration Building. The nomination and registration period starts on May 1st, meaning potential candidates cannot sign up until then.
