Woodstock lost to LaSalle on Friday, beat Listowel on Saturday, and lost to Chatham on Sunday.
WOODSTOCK/CHATHAM - It was a mixed weekend for the Woodstock Navy Vets.
The Vets suffered a 4-2 loss to the LaSalle Vipers at Southwood Arena on Friday. It was an impressive outing for rookie star defenceman Sebastien Fortin, who scored both of the Vets goals in his first game back after suffering a hand injury during the Eli Palfreyman Memorial Tournament last month.
Woodstock bounced back with a 4-2 victory over the Listowel Cyclones on Saturday. Landyn Quirk made 24 saves in the net, securing his second win of the season.
The Vets also hit the ice in Chatham yesterday, where they lost to the Maroons with a final score of 5-3. Woodstock battled back from a three-goal deficit during the game, but it wasn't enough in the end.
Woodstock is in a five-way tie for third place in the GOHL Western Conference standings. They have eight points total, the same as the Komoka Kings, Elmira Sugar Kings, the Cyclones, and the Vipers. The Maroons are in second place with 12 points and the St. Thomas Stars are tied with the St. Marys Lincolns for first place with 14 points each.
The Navy Vets will be back in action this weekend with a home game against the Strathroy Rockets on Friday and an away game agains the Cambridge Redhawks on Saturday.
