Norwich Township council will be taking a close look at a proposal banning overnight on-street parking in the winter.
NORWICH TOWNSHIP - Those who park on the side of the road overnight in Norwich and Otterville this winter might find a ticket on their vehicle the next day.
Norwich Township Council will be introducing a bylaw which will prohibit overnight on-street winter parking.
CAO Clerk Kyle Kruger gives Heart FM the details.
"The proposal of the by-law that will be brought to council for consideration will be for between the hours of 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. from November 15th to March 31st."
Mayor Larry Martin says the by-law will make the snow removal process much easier for plow drivers.
"It will make it a lot easier and a lot quicker because now they won't have to back track to go back and do it over again to catch where they have gone around a vehicle. Not to mention the fact that there might be an occasion where they may hit the vehicle."
There is no word yet as to how much the fine will be and this will not impact overnight parking in public parking lots.
