A 21 year old man from Norwich Township is accused of trying to lure a child from Norfolk County over the internet.
NORWICH TOWNSHIP - The OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and the Norfolk OPP have wrapped up an investigation into a young man from Norwich Township.
In January the Norfolk OPP received a call from a parent who said a man had been communicating with their child on the Internet. The OPP turned over the investigation to the Child Sexual Exploitation Unit.
On February 8th police arrested and charged 21 year old Matthew James Monahan. He has been charged with three counts of luring a child for a sexual purpose and one count of sending sexually explicit material to a person under 16 years of Age.
The accused was released with conditions. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe Ontario on March 28, 2017.
The investigation is ongoing.
