A Woodstock Man learned the hard way why you shouldn't post naked photo's of yourself online.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police were called after a classic example of online dating gone bad.
What happened was a Woodstock man met a girl online and two started talking through the Internet. At some point the woman convinced him to send her a naked photo of himself and after he complied she threatened to forward it to all of his contacts. Constable Nikki VanLeeuwen says this is actually a pretty common complaint the police are getting these days.
"I mean this is something that isn't new, we are seeing more of this type of online cyber crime incidents happening, we just really want to instill to all members of the public to be careful of what you are posting online."
VanLeeuwen says this type of thing can be considered extortion and she is reminding everyone to think before you post anything online or even through a text.
