OPP Briefs include porta potty heist, stolen backhoe and power tools and two men charged with stealing a pickup truck.

LISTOWEL - Perth County OPP are investigating a pretty crappy theft in Listowel.

Police say someone stole a green plastic/fibreglass portable toilet from a construction company working on Road 166 West of Listowel. The toilet had been placed at a culvert and road repair site last Monday and was last spotted on Friday night. No word on how the suspect or suspects were able to remove the toilet. It features the name C&P toilets on the unit.

The value of the stolen toilet is approximately $1,200. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Perth County OPP or Crime Stoppers.


THAMES CENTRE - OPP are investigating after a number of tools and a backhoe were stolen from Thorndale Road in Thames Centre.

Police say the John Deere Backhoe and power tools were taken during the middle of the night on August 12th. The backhoe was eventually recovered near Prospect Hill Road, however the power tools are still missing.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Middlesex OPP or CrimeStoppers.


THAMES CENTRE - Two men from London are being held in custody after a pickup truck was taken from a driveway in Thames Centre.

Officers were called out to a Gregory Drive home in the early morning hours of August 16th after the theft. While patrolling the area officers came across a suspicious beige Mazda car and they arrested the driver.

Soon after the stolen pickup was seen driving dangerously in London. The man who was driving abandoned the truck and tried to flee on foot in the area of Gore Road and Veteran's Memorial Parkway. The man was arrested by London Police and taken to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

47 year old George Liscombe is charged with theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle, and failing to comply with a probation order.

40 year old Shane Andrews has also been charged with theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
