The $86,500 investment helps two local organizations.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County received a big investment to help local emergency preparedness in the County.
MPP for Oxford, Ernie Hardeman, says the funding is helping two local organizations strengthen their readiness for emergencies.
"This funding will help them improve their resources so they can respond quickly and effectively when it matters most, helping keep residents in Oxford County safe."
The Township of East Zorra-Tavistock is using $36,500 to purchase essential supplies for its emergency operations centre as well as portable emergency scene lighting. The funding will also allow them to hire a consultant to conduct a full field exercise.
The Township of South-West Oxford will use $50,000 in funding to help purchase, install and commission a generator to help power its emergency operations centre in case of a power outage.
