The humidex levels are expected to reach over 40 in both Oxford County and Brant.
OXFORD COUNTY - Environment Canada and Southwestern Public Health have issued special weather statements for Wednesday.
The humidex levels are expected to reach over 40 in both Oxford County and Brant.
Environment Canada says it's imperative that you drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place. They also request that you check on older family, never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle and to keep your house cool.
A heat warning will not be required, as daytime high temperatures will not reach warning criteria on Thursday. Heat warnings require hot and humid conditions to last for two days, including the overnight low in between to be 20 degrees Celsius or higher. In this case, only Wednesday fits that criteria.
Anyone who experiences physical distress due to the heat should immediately seek medical attention by calling 9-1-1 or going to the nearest emergency department.
If you need to find a public Cooling Centre, information is provided here.
