Visitors voted for Randy Thompson's painting Winter Sandspit as this year's People's Choice Award at the Woodstock Art Gallery's Visual Elements 61.
WOODSTOCK - Artist Randy Thompson was named the recipient of the People’s Choice Award at the Woodstock Art Gallery's annual juried exhibition.
Visitors selected his painting Winter Sandspit to the Gallery’s Visual Elements 61 where Director and Curator Mary Reid, along with Deputy Mayor Jerry Acchione, presented Thompson with the award at the fall exhibition opening last Saturday.
Reid says praised Thompson's artwork.
"On behalf of the Woodstock Art Gallery’s Board and Staff we want to congratulate Randy Thompson on this most deserving award. "It is a true testament to how art can speak to and inspire us all."
Thompson says he is thrilled his painting was chosen by residents in Woodstock and Oxford County.
"The entire Visual Elements 61 Exhibition experience has been fun and exciting, I feel honoured and humbled, as there were so many talented artists exhibiting their work. I would like to thank all those who liked my work well enough to vote for it and thanks to the WAG staff for the efforts in producing this exhibition."
