Twenty-three animals found their forever homes last week.
OXFORD - PetSmart's National Adoption Week was a big success for the Oxford County Animal Rescue!
Foster Coordinator Anna Holmes says 21 cats and two dogs found their forever homes last week. She's very excited about this, but adds they still have a long list of furry friends in their care, plus lots more on a waiting list.
"It's a terrible place for animals right now! We're doing our best, everyone is struggling and we only have so much space. We are a foster based rescue, so we need fosters to help with these animals."
You can visit the Oxford County Animal Rescue's website to fill out an application to foster a dog or a cat until they find their forever home.
During her interview on the Heart FM Morning Show today, Holmes also walked us through the adoption process.
"The first thing you need to go is go to our website, click on Adopt and then Cats for Adoption or Dogs for Adoption. You will see all of the pets we have available and you have to go to the bottom of that page to fill out an application."
The rescue will check your references and reach out to you to arrange a meeting if everything goes well.
Those thinking about adding a new member to their home can also attend the rescues next adoption event, which will be taking place at the Ingersoll PetValue on Sunday, April 19th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Holmes says they will have some adorable bunnies on sight looking for their forever homes.
Anna Holmes stops by the Heart FM studio on the first Wednesday of every month to talk about what's going on with the Oxford County Animal Rescue. She always brings one of the adoptable pets with her, and today we got to meet Stanley the cat. Holmes also had a bit of fun with Dan and Marcie today, playing along with their April Fools prank about the Springbank Snow Countess coming to life and walking through Woodstock.
