The Braves celebrated two victories while the Merchants suffered two losses. The Trojans also suffered a loss over the weekend.
PJHL - It was a great weekend for the Tavistock Braves, but a not so great weekend for the Norwich Merchants and the Thamesford Trojans.
The Braves beat the Wellesley Applejacks 5-2 on Friday with Evan Palubeski and Owen Yagar both scoring twice for Tavistock.
The Braves also shutout the Merchants 7-0 on Saturday with Yann Raskin also scoring twice for Tavistock. Keenan McGrath, Brett Bell, Tyler Klein, Nolan Miller, and Liam McHugh also found the back of the net.
The Merchants suffered another devastating loss on Friday, falling 7-1 to the Hespeler Shamrocks at Nor-Del Arena. Boden Brimmell scored the lone goal for Norwich.
The Braves are on top of the Doherty Division standings with 14 points. The Applejacks are tied with the New Hamburg Firebirds for second place with 10 points each, and they're fiollowed by the Paris Mounties with seven points, the Merchants with six points, and the Dorchester Dolphins with four points. The Shamrocks are in last place with three points.
Over in the Yeck Division, the Thamesford Trojans lost to the Mount Brydges Bulldogs 3-2 on Friday. Yusuf Jomaa and Brady Snedden both scored in the third period for Thamesford.
The Trojans are tied with the Lucan Irish for fourth place in the Yeck Division standings with four points each, only one point ahead of the last place Port Stanley Sailors. The Petrolia Fluers are in third plae with seven points, while the Exeter Hawks and the Aylmer Spitfires are tied for second place with eight points each. The Bulldogs are on top of the standings with the North Middlesex Stars, tied with 12 points each.
