A 23 year old from Norfolk will be walking for the next couple of days after getting caught speeding in Tillsonburg.
SOUTH-WEST OXFORD - A 23 year old from Norfolk County is facing racing and dangerous operation charges after police pulled him over in Tillsonburg.
Oxford OPP say the stopped a vehicle doing 136km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone early this morning around 2:50 a.m. The traffic stop was initiated on Broadway street.
The 23 year old was charged with race a motor vehicle and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. His drivers license was suspended for 7 days and his vehicle was impounded.
Constable Lisa Naranscik says "Drivers who engage in high risk driving behaviour put everyone at risk. Speeding makes it difficult for drivers to react to change, stop suddenly and control a vehicle. In the case of a collision, the higher the speed the more severe the collision and the more likely that serious injury or death will occur. OPP would like to remind the motoring public to manage their time and respect all the rules of the road when travelling."
