The Norwich Optimist Truck and Tractor Pull kicks off tonight featuring pullers from near and far.
NORWICH - The Norwich Optimist Truck and Tractor Pull is ready to roar into the Rettie Farm once again.
The annual two day event this Friday and Saturday has lots of pulls on tap, featuring local truck and tractor drivers and members of the Ontario Truck and Tractor Pull Association.
Pull Chairperson John Rettie says pullers from far and wide will be participating in the pull.
"Pullers will be coming from all over Ontario; Uxbridge area, Bolton, Newmarket and as far away as Casselman Ontario. Our turbine multi-engine machine will be coming out of Ashland Ohio."
Friday's pulls will kick off at 6 p.m. and will feature gas and diesel pick up trucks, about half a dozen local highway tractors, and the first OTTPA session.
Saturday's pulls will start at 10 a.m. and will have farm tractors, Big Creek Minis, and the second OTTPA session.
On top of the pulls there will also be a beer tent and entertainment to end each day. Connor Wilson will hit the stage Friday evening while Danielle Knoll will play Saturday night. There will be a Kids Zone for the little ones on Saturday with air bounces, kids' games and a tractor pedal pull.
An adult admission is $15 for Friday, $20 for Saturday or $30 for a weekend pass. Kids are $5 a day, $10 for the weekend and anyone under the age of 4 gets in for free.
The Rettie Farm is located at the corner of Highway 59 and Evergreen Street north of Norwich and you can find more information on the Norwich Optimist Truck and Tractor Pull website.
