Rock Concert Benefits Cancer Walk And WDDS

This year the proceeds from Rise Against Cancer VIII will go to Woodstock And District Developmental Services, and the One Walk to Cure Cancer.

WOODSTOCK - Rise Against Cancer VIII is getting ready to take over the Oxford Auditorium.

This year some of the bands rocking the stage include Sweet 'N Innocent, Blind Dog Joe, Echoing Concussion, Social Stone.

Organizer Scott Brett says it's going to be a rockin' good time.

"You are going to hear the best kind of music you're going to hear 80's rock. You're going to hear some AC/DC, maybe some Van Halen, Guns and Roses."

This year the event is in support of two great causes according to Brett:

"This year our money's going to WDDS and also to the One Walk to Cure Cancer and that is in September so most of our money goes to the Bust A Move walking team and they go walk 60 kilometres in Montreal."

Tickets are $15 but they are selling out very fast. They are available from any of the band members, WDDS, Dr Bob Lail & Associates, Beaches 'N Dreams, Nethercott Press Inc., Goodlife Co-Ed and The Record Score.

The event is on Saturday May 7th at the Oxford Auditorium.
