Environment Canada says we could be in for thunderstorms, strong winds, torrential downpours, and toonie-sized hail.
OXFORD - It's a stormy morning in Oxford County.
Environment Canada has issued a yellow watch for severe thunderstorms, which could also bring strong winds, torrential downpours and toonie sized hail. It's forecasting 10 to 15 milimetres of rain for today, plus another 10 milimetres of rain for tonight. We could also be in for wind gusts between 50 and 70 kilometres per hour.
Environment Canada says it's best to stay inside as much as possible, because lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. However, it is a good idea to secure loose objects so the strong winds don't blow them away. If you have to drive anywhere today, make sure you prepare for difficult road conditions.
Environment Canada says thunderstorms over lower Michigan should cross the border into Ontario at around 6:00 a.m. today, and track east from there.
