A 24-year-old Ingersoll resident has been arrested and charged following a sexual assault investigation. The search warrant was executed today by multiple police agencies.
INGERSOLL - A sexual assault investigation has lead to charges from the Oxford OPP.
Today (Thursday, December 14th), members of Oxford OPP, Oxford Major Crime Unit, Cyber Operations Section of Digital Forensics and West Region Digital Forensics executed a search warrant in Ingersoll, which resulted in an arrest.
From the investigation, police have arrested and charged a 24-year-old Ingersoll resident under the Criminal Code of Canada.
The charges include; sexual assault, sexual interference, luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication, makes, prints, publishes or possesses for the purpose of publication and child pornography, traffic in persons under the age of 18, and material benefit resulting from trafficking in persons under 18 years of age.
The accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Due to a court-ordered publication ban no further information will be released, including the name of the accused.
