Ward 3 in South-West Oxford has seen another candidate come forward for the upcoming municipal election.
SOUTH-WEST OXFORD - South-West Oxford Council has another candidate for Ward 3.
George Klosler submitted his nomination forms and is seeking election this October. He has had a career in agricultural finance and speaks to why now is the time to run for municipal office.
"Having recently retired from farm credit, I think I have the time and energy to do a little more. And yeah, I thought it'd be great to put my name in for council. And a number of people approached me and thought I'd be good in the position, so that was a motivator as well."
Klosler is the current interim councillor, but knows that if he is elected into the position full-time, he will have a lot to learn. He talks about one area he believes should be a major talking point if elected.
"I think we need to look at things like road safety and our transportation systems. There's a lot of secondary roads in the county and in the township that we've got to do what we can to think about safety first."
Residents of South-West Oxford will head to the polls on Monday, October 26, 2026, to cast their ballots.
