Ward 6 in South-West Oxford has one name on the candidate list. That is Dave Mitchell.
SOUTH-WEST OXFORD - Ward 6 in South-West Oxford has a candidate.
Dave Mitchell has put his name forward and will look to follow in his father's footsteps, who served as the Ward 6 councillor for 21 years. Mitchell says why he made the decision to run.
"Now I have time to devote myself to politics, and I've been thinking about it for the last couple of years anyway to do it. I've been around the township for many years."
Mitchell mentions two of the big issues he knows about and would like to work on, would be roads and drainage within Ward 6. Mitchell says what makes him a strong candidate for the position.
"I think the biggest thing is I've got strong communication skills and ability to learn, listen and do what I possibly can. I'm a people person. I love talking to people and listening."
Mitchell served in the fire department in many roles for 45 and a half years, and has been a resident in the Ward his entire life.
Residents in South-West Oxford will head to the polls on Monday, October 26th.
