Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Dowdeswell will deliver the throne speech at 1:00 p.m. and the Ford Government will re-introduce its budget afterward.
ONTARIO - Ontario's Lieutenant Governor will deliver the Ford Government's throne speech today.
Elizabeth Dowdeswell will deliver the speech from the throne at 1:00 p.m. and the Progressive Conservative Government will highlight their budget afterward. The budget was introduced, but not passed, before the June election this year.
The budget is expected to be largely unchanged when it's re-introduced today, aside from a possible five percent increase to Ontario Disability Support program rates. They have been frozen since 2018, and the Liberals, Greens and Opposition NDP have all called on the PCs to increase the payments.
