Employees evacuated the Canada Post building in Tillsonburg after they all came down with a sudden illness at the same time.
TILLSONBURG - The Canada Post building in Tillsonburg was evacuated today.
Constable Stacey Culbert tells Heart FM the call was made after the 8 employees inside reported feeling ill.
"Shortly after 12:30 this afternoon, employees reported some having some medical symptoms that led them to evacuate the building and emergency services were called in. Because they were all feeling ill at the same time, Police, Fire and EMS responded to the scene."
All eight employees were treated at the scene and no injuries have been reported. The OPP did close off Brock Street East for several hours to allow for the investigation. Culbert says there is no threat to public safety at this time and an investigation is ongoing.
The OPP Urban Search and Rescue, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives Response Team (UCRT) have been called out to the scene. The building and immediate area surrounding it remains closed for investigation.
