Tillsonburg Council has a familiar face running in the election. Chris Rosehart has put her name back on the ballot.
TILLSONBURG - A long-standing councillor for the Town of Tillsonburg has decided to run for re-election.
Chris Rosehart has been on council for 28 years now, and she would like to stick around for another four. She has owned Chrissy's Corner Store for nearly 50 years, and decided to run for council in 1998 after speaking with her customers and hearing their concerns.
She says the residents have always been her top priority.
"We're here for the people, for the taxpayer who is the one that does everything! They are the ones that make this down work and we need to listen to these people. We need to listen to the people who put us in there, and we can't forget that."
She says industry is something that really needs to be addressed during the next term.
"I think we need to look at our public works department, our fire department, etc. to help people out and move forward."
She would also like to bring more industry to Tillsonburg because it offsets tax dollars from residential to commercial or industrial.
The municipal election is scheduled for October 26th.
