Ron Gasparetto is recently retired and wants to give back to his community as a town coucillor.
TILLSONBURG - He spent his entire career working for municipalities and conservation authorities and now that he's retired, he wants to give back to his community.
Ron Gasparetto is running for a seat on Tillsonburg Town Council.
He grew up in Sault Ste. Marie before moving south to go to school in London. That's where he met his wife, and they settled down in Tillsonburg 23 years ago.
Gasparetto started his career working with the City of London. He also worked for the City of Brantford for a time, before moving on to the Grand River Conservation Authority where he retired.
He says he'll hit the ground running if becomes a town councillor.
"I've got 30 plus years of experience working with municipalities, working with a lot of different councils, private interest groups and that type of stuff. I've seen the other side from a staff perspective and worked with a lot of different councils."
He also specialized in real estate, asset management, and economic development throughout his career, which brings us to his plan for Tillsonburg if he's elected.
"What I would like to see is Tillsonburg continue to grow, but grow at pace that doesn't strain infrastructure and services. A real controlled type of growth I think is what we really need."
The municipal election is scheduled for October 26th.
