A 24-year-old Tillsonburg resident will be in court to answer to charges. Oxford OPP arrested the suspect after a pair of thefts at two separate businesses in the town.
TILLSONBURG - Oxford OPP have laid charges after getting a report of a theft.
On Thursday, August 24th, at 10:00 a.m., officers received a report of a break and enter to a business on Vance Drive in Tillsonburg.
The investigation determined that an individual attended the property and gained access to the shop. Once inside, several plumbing tools were removed.
Police later received information regarding a separate theft at a different business on Broadway in Tillsonburg.
Officers located the person that also matched the description from the earlier complaint and placed the individual under arrest.
Several pieces of stolen property were recovered.
As a result of the investigation, Layne Chambers, 24-years-old of Tillsonburg was charged with the following offences:
- Break, Enter a Place - Commit Indictable Offence
- Theft Under $5000
- Theft Under $5000 - Shoplifting
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on a later date.
