The Tillsonburg Thunder will battle the Alvinston Killer Bees for the WOSHL Super League Cup tonight.
TILLSONBURG - The 2023-2024 Western Ontario Super Hockey League (WOSHL) season is coming to a close.
A champion will be crowned in the WOSHL, tonight (Friday, April 26th), the Tillsonburg Thunder welcome the Alvinston Killer Bees for Game 7 of the WOSHL Super League Cup. General Manager of the Thunder, Bill Ryan speaks to how the fan support has been.
"In this series it has just been ramped up that much more. It's our third trip to the final, but Alvinston also has a rabbit and active fan base. We have been getting four to five hundred of their fans down to our games, and they have been getting hundreds of our fans down to their games, so the building will be jammed."
Ryan says the team is one of the older groups in the league, and heading into Game 7 the guys will draw on past championships in other leagues to focus in on the WOSHL title. He also talks about his thoughts on how the game could go.
"Being at home and having our fan base support certainly is going to help and drive their energy levels for sure. Alvinston, you have to give them credit, they have a skilled team there too, it is all going to come down to bounces and opportunities and who capitalizes I believe."
Puck drop tonight is set for 8:30 p.m., and Ryan says a ticket is probably going to be hard to come by, but if you visit the WOSHL website, you will be able to watch the game online.
