The committee behind Oxford's International Women's Day celebration is still looking for AppreSHEation nominations.
Oxford County will come together to celebrate women in our community.
A big event on March 8th will recognize the accomplishments of women who are making strides to better the status of women in Oxford.
The International Women's Day event will be at the Oxford Auditorium, and Co-Chair Phyl McCrum encourages everyone to get their nominations in soon.
"It can be a person or a group certainly. What we're looking at is for people who might not always be recognized, for people who might be doing work that people don't always see but yet all of their actions really advance the status of women."
McCrum adds that even if the woman you nominate does not win, it is still an amazing gesture.
"Even if somebody has been nominated and doesn't receive the award, every nominee is invited to attend and every nominee gets a copy of what was said about them, so it's a really nice opportunity."
Email SBarg@CASOxford.on.ca for a nomination form.
