TILLSONBURG - It's Turtlefest weekend in the Town of Tillsonburg.
The opening ceremonies will be taking place at the Station Arts Centre from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. this evening, where people can also check out the Slow and Steady exhibit.
The festivities will then move to Annandale National Historic House for rock painting, dinner, treats, and a screening of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Tomorrow's schedule includes a petting zoo and 360 Booth on Broadway, the Carver Kings in the LCBO parking lot, and a Food Truck Fairway on Brock Street East. Turtlefest is a town-wide festival that takes place every Father's Day weekend. It's in honour of George Tillson, the founder of the town who once believed that he would be reincarnated as a turtle, so he could return and see how his town was thriving.
