The funds raised will benefit two of Hearts for Ethiopia's projects overseas; Tesfa's Shelter and Wellness for Women.
WOODSTOCK - There's still time to raise some funds for Heart For Ethiopia ahead of their next big fundraiser.
A Walk in Their Shoes will be taking place at Marantha Christian Reformed Church on Saturday October 17th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m..
The day will not only include a short outdoor walk, but also some interactive games, a silent auction, an Ethiopian Merkato, and an Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony. Founder Shelley Green it's very fun and informative at the same time.
"The whole afternoon is about learning, but we also make it fun! I believe people leave that event really feeling like they have been a part of something meaningful, I believe that they feel inspired and they feel like they have learned a lot with how our money makes a difference for real lives in Ethiopia."
The funds raised will be set aside for two of Hearts for Ethiopia's projects overseas; Tesfa's Shelter and Wellness for Women.
Tesfa's Shelter is currently caring for 82 children in Harar. It provides them with shelter, food, clothing, educational supplies, medical care, security and a family.
Green says Wellness for Women is geared towards women who are not physically well and have psychological trauma to work through.
"Through counselling, medical care, and training we not only make those women well, but we also empower them through education and learning how to advocate for themselves."
The women in the program learn how to save money, cook meals on a budget, and how to run a small business to support themselves. They also receive the tools and equipment they need to start their own small business upon graduation.

Shelley Green stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Tuesday, October 6th. You can listen to the full interview below:
