A Woodstock woman accused of trying to suffocate her mother with a pillow is being held behind bars. 62-year-old Leah Walton appeared in court via video link on New Year's Eve, and she was remanded in custody. The next appearance is set for January 14th, also by video from the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre. Walton was arrested by Woodstock Police on the morning of December 21st, after a 911 call came from the apartment she shares with her 85-year-old mother.
