Woodstock Minor Hockey is hosting a Just Try It: Goalie program and a free skate to welcome everyone to another season.
WOODSTOCK - Sharpen the skates and break out the hockey gear - Woodstock Minor Hockey is welcoming everyone back for another season.
They are having a fun free day starting with the Just Try It Program - Goalie Edition at 11:45 a.m. on September 10th. Woodstock Minor Hockey President Mike Collins says anyone who is interested in trying their skills between the pipes can come out, borrow some gear, and see if they have what it takes.
"From 11:45 we do sizing, we go from 12:45 until 1:45. So if you register with Woodstock Minor Hockey and you want to try being a goalie, we'll outfit you, we'll give you equipment, you go out there and we'll put you through some skills."
Once the Just Try It program wraps up, they will open up the ice for a free skate and other fun activities.
"Hopefully we'll have our facepainter there, there's going to be some games that you can do, we got a couple bands showing up, Shaw Direct's going to be there handing out prizes, we'll have little games outside."
It's all happening at the Woodstock Community Complex on September 10th.
