United Way Oxford has presented the Wes Magill Award to several people and organizations who played an important role in getting the Tillsonburg Light House program up and running.
OXFORD COUNTY - United Way Oxford has announced its Wes Magill Award recipients.
The award was established by the United Way Oxford Board and launched in 1980. It was created to recognize Wes Magill’s invaluable contribution to United Way Oxford. It is designed to honour individuals, labour groups, or companies in the community who have gone the "extra mile" and given their time and talents for the betterment of our United Way.
Each year the United Way Oxford Board chooses a nominee and recommends them to the Magill Family Members for their final approval.
This year, there was a group of individuals and organizations that were selected for the award because of their help in getting the Tillsonburg Light House completed.
The Light House is a transitional housing program, that gives people in need vital wrap-around and life-skill development supports. United Way Oxford says without the help of the individuals and groups, the Light House project would not have been able to be open six weeks after the purchase of the unit.
The list of recipients includes; Oxford County, the Town of Tillsonburg, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc., the Oxford Ontario Health Team, the London Community Foundation, Chris Willie, Pow Designed Solutions, Pow Engineering, Cassandra Benard, OC Realty Team, the Oxford County Community Health Centre, and Cedric Tomico, 360 Developments.
United Way Oxford would like to send a thank you to the incredible community supporters for their amazing contributions!
