WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Chamber of Commerce has officially hired a new General Manager.
Kim Whitehead will start her new job at the end of this month. Communications Chair Bob Armstrong explains why Whitehead is the perfect fit for the position.
"Kim's experience and her knowledge of the business community and knowledge of the working of the chamber; that's what her selection was based on for sure."
As General Manager, Whitehead will be in charge of all of the chamber's events and day to day operations.
Whitehead will be taking over the position from Deb Masters. Armstrong says Masters will step down at the end of March, so the two will work side by side for a short while.
"Deb doesn't leave us until the end of March so we're excited there is going to be a bit of an overlap and the learning process should be exciting for both of them."
Masters is walking away from the position due to availability complications. Right now the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce office on Peel Street is only open three days a week. Once Whitehead takes over in March, the office will be open five days a week.
