Woodstock City Council and Oxford County Council are backing an initiative to put Automated External Defibrillators in all Ontario schools.
Councillor Jerry Acchione brought the motion to council earlier this month. He is glad the motion received unanimous support.
"I'm very thankful for councils support in this. I think it's really important to put this right across
Mayor Trevor Birtch says the cause has also received support from East Zorra Tavistock Council and Oxford County Council.
"At County Council we received unanimous support to send letters to the associations, to the province as well as to the Thames Valley School Board letting them know what we support the installation of AEDs in all Thames Valley Schools."
The Thames Valley District School Board is currently the only school board in the province that did not participate in the National Heart and Stroke Foundations program to equip all schools with AEDs.
