The City of Woodstock is looking to expand its borders to include land ideal for commercial and industrial use.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock is looking at expanding its borders in the near future.
The city has its eye on some lands just outside of town that would be ideal for commercial and industrial development. But those lands are currently in Norwich Township.
Mayor Trevor Birtch explains how he thinks development on these lands will benefit the county.
"It would allow us the opportunity to look for new businesses, new factories, or commercial opportunities to invest in Oxford County right here in Woodstock at the crossroads of the 401 and the 403."
So Mayor Birtch says he will be writing a letter to Norwich Township.
"If Norwich's council decides that they want to sit down with the city and start a discussion, that discussion will take place with myself, Councillor Shapton, and Councillor Lauder."
