Two people have been arrested in Thorold in a human trafficking investigation. Niagara Police with the help of other Police Services executed a search warrant yesterday. One suspect is known to visit Woodstock.
THOROLD - A human trafficking investigation in Thorold has ties to Woodstock.
The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Human Trafficking Unit, along with Barrie Police Human Trafficking Unit, and NRPS Emergency Task Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Thorold yesterday (Wednesday, October 4th).
As a result, two people were taken into custody, including 28-year-old Jade Charley.
Charley is known to frequent the Friendly City, among other cities in Ontario, as well as Winnipeg, Manitoba.
She is facing multiple charges, including Trafficking in Persons, Material Benefit - Trafficking Person over 18, Material Benefit from Sexual Services, Procuring, Advertising Another Person's Sexual Services, Possess a Schedule I Substance (Fentanyl) for the purpose of Trafficking, and Possession of proceeds of crime over $5000.
Charley was in Court yesterday, then appeared again today (Thursday, October 5th) at 9:30 a.m. for a bail hearing.
