WPS briefs include a couple of crashes, an impaired driver, and someone who fled from police.

WOODSTOCK - Two people are facing charges after a collision in Woodstock.

Officers responded to the incident last Thursday at the intersection of Norwich Ave and Montclair Drive. A vehicle hit a utility box, and during the initial investigation the male told officers he was driving. As the investigation continued it was determined the woman was driving, and they had switched seats.

As a result a 20-year-old Woodstock man was charged with obstructing a peace officer and permitting a novice driver to drive in contravention of condition or restriction. Also, a 24-year-old Woodstock woman is facing charges of obstructing a peace officer and being a class G1 licence holder - unaccompanied by a qualified driver.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police charged a Tillsonburg man after a traffic stop.

On Saturday, officers made the stop at Dundas and Wilson, and a breath test registered a fail. The driver was arrested and other breath tests determined he was nearly three times the legal limit.

As a result, the 20-year-old from Tillsonburg was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80.

WOODSTOCK - Multiple charges have been laid after a vehicle fled from Woodstock Police.

Officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on Friday, which resulted in the vehicle fleeing, and for safety reasons the officer stopped pursuing the vehicle. The vehicle was later found in a residential area, and police were able to take the driver into custody around 11:45 a.m.

As a result, a 31-year-old Etobicoke man is facing charges of dangerous operation, flight from a peace officer, operation while prohibited, and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

WOODSTOCK - A Woodstock man is facing charges in his hometown.

On Friday, the Woodstock Police responded to a collision involving a vehicle and motorcycle on Fairview Road and Three Wood Drive.

The driver of the motorcycle left the scene on foot, and officers determined the plates on the motorcycle were not authorized for the bike. Police found the driver of the motorcycle at a residence near the scene, and took the 26-year-old into custody.

He is facing charges of failure to remain, using plates not authorized for a vehicle, driving a motor vehicle with no licence, and owner operating a motor vehicle on the highway with no insurance.
