Woodstock Police Briefs

Police were kept busy with R.I.D.E. programs and responding to 11 collisions over the Long Weekend.

WOODSTOCK - It was a busy long weekend for the Woodstock Police who responded to a number of collisions.

Officers also spent a great deal of the weekend conducting R.I.D.E. programs. They stopped 1000 vehicles and are happy to report they didn't need to charge anyone with impaired driving.

One man was charged with impaired driving though on Friday morning after police pulled him over and he appeared to be impaired by drugs.

Police also responded to several collisions over the long weekend.

On Friday they dealt with 9 crashes in the friendly city:

1 - Norwich Ave. three vehicle collision, no injuries, $7000 damage, 32 year old male charged for following too close.

2 - Two vehicle collision on Dundas and Mill Streets, no injuries.

3 - Fail to remain collision on Juliana Drive.

4 - Springbank Ave. two vehicle collision, no injuries $3000 damage, driver was charged with following too close.

5 - Norwich Avenue, two vehicle collision, $10,000 damage, one driver sustained minor injuries. The 66 female driver was charged with amber light fail to stop.

6 - Dundas St. and Wellington St. two vehicle collision, no injuries, $4000 damage. A 67 year old male driver was charged.

7 - Two vehicle collision fail to remain on Norwich Avenue. No injuries.

8 - Fail to Remain on private property $3000 damage.

9 - Two vehicle collision on HWY 59, no injuries, $1000 damage, and 21 year old male driver charged with follow too close.

One collision was reported on Saturday:

1 - Mill St., two vehicle collision, no injurie, $7000 damage, 27 year old female was charged with following too closely.

And one more on Sunday:

1 - A single vehicle struck a natural gas meter no injuries, $600 damage.
