The municipal election is coming up, and Ward 1 in Zorra Township has a candidate for council.
ZORRA TOWNSHIP - Ward 1 in Zorra Township has a council candidate.
James Chamberlain and his family live in Beachville and are very involved in the community. Chamberlain explains why now is the time to run for council.
"Now I saw there were some openings for Zorra Township. I spoke to my wife, and I said I would like to try this, and so I put my hat in the ring."
Chamberlain worked for CP Rail for 22 years. He and his wife now take the time to organize the Beachville Car Show as a way to give back to the community. Chamberlain goes on to talk about what he would like to accomplish if elected to the council.
"To just work as a team member on the committees on council to help our townships become stronger."
Chamberlain adds that there has been a lot of talk regarding high-speed rail coming to the area, and he believes his experience in rail transport could help find a solution.
Residents will head to the polls on Monday, October 26th, 2026.
