Crash involving OPP officer forces highway closure in Woodstock.
UPDATE (1:00PM) - All lanes of the 401 Westbound are now open.
UPDATE (11:04AM) - OPP say the Westbound lanes of the 403 bewteen Highway 53 and 24 are back OPEN.
UPDATE (9:44AM) - OPP are responding to a multi-vehicle collision on the 401 Westbound near Drumbo Rd. As a result, all Westbound lanes of the 401 from Drumbo Rd. to Highway 59 in Woodstock are now CLOSED.
This morning's blowing snow is presenting danger for drivers, and even police officers.
An Oxford OPP cruiser was hit from behind this morning while responding to a collision on the 401.
At 7:30 this morning, the officer was at the scene of a crash on the 401 Westbound near Highway 2, and was sitting in her parked cruiser, when she was hit from behind by a pick-up truck.
Luckily, only minor injuries resulted.
But the collision caused police to shut down all westbound lanes of the 401 between Highway 2 and Highway 59, which remains closed.
As well, crashes have forced the closure of the 403 westbound between Highway 53 and Highway 24.
Highway 7/8 remains closed between Stratford and New Hamburg.
