Audiences in Ingersoll will have a new play to watch, as the Ingersoll Theatre of Performing Arts is set to put on their next production.
INGERSOLL - A new show will be hitting the stage next week at the Ingersoll Theatre of Performing Arts.
The Affections of May is a comedy and it will open on February 8th.
Producer Laura Penny says the rehearsals have been going well.
"It's been really amazing, everybody's been in good spirits. You're always a little bit harder on yourself and actors are always the hardest on themselves, but no there was maybe a few times where lines were forgotten but then they pick up a cue and they carry on. They've been so professional."
The play is filled with humour, but it does have some emotional moments too.
The show centers around a married couple who open up a bed and breakfast in a small town after going through marital problems. The woman is then left run it on her own after her husband leaves her and moves back to the city.
Penny says she hopes audiences come out to enjoy themselves and the show.
"I just hope people come and enjoy it, have an evening out and have some fun and enjoy live theatre, and just see how much effort that goes into and how much people do this because they love to do it."
The show runs on February 8-10th and from February 14-17th. A matinee will be on February 10th and 17th, starting at 2:00pm.
Regular showtimes are at 7:30pm. Tickets are available on www.itopa.ca and you may also call 519-485-3070.
