Woodstock snaps a 24 game losing streak to keep playoff hopes alive
The Woodstock Navy Vets snapped their 24 game losing streak and it couldn't have come at a better time. They defeated Delhi 6-5 in overtime. The Navy Vets fell behind 2-0 after the 1st period but then dominated the 2nd period scoring 5 times on 25 shots. Matt Jauernig scored his 2nd goal of the game with just over 1 minute left in the extra period to give the Vets the victory. The win pulls the Vets to within 2 points of Delhi in the race for the final playoff spot.
The Navy Vets host Ayr on Friday Jan.25 at Southwood Arena @ 7:45 pm in their final regular season home game that will also be Fan Appreciation Night. They close out the regular season with a big game in Delhi on Friday Jan.31 in what could be the game that decides the final playoff spot .
