Gabe Rose's name will still appear on the ballot, however he is asking residents to vote for one of the other two candidates.
WOODSTOCK - The Mayor's race in Woodstock is down to two people.
Gabe Rose has issued the following statement to Heart FM announcing that he will no longer seek the Mayors seat on the October 22nd municipal election.
Dear residents of Woodstock,
Due to personal reasons, I have decided that I will no longer be continuing my campaign to become Mayor of Woodstock. Since I have missed the deadline to officially withdraw my candidacy, my name will still appear on the ballot. However, I would encourage residents to cast a vote for one of the two remaining candidates. I would like to thank everyone for their support and encouragement.
Incumbent Mayor Trevor Birtch remains in the running against current councillor and mayoral candidate Shawn Shapton.
