Navy Vets lose a heartbreaker to the Travellers Wednesday night
The dismal season continues for the Woodstock Navy Vets as the playoffs draw nearer.
The Travellers shutout the Vets 2-0 in Delhi Wednesday night, taking a 3-point lead in the league standings, maintaining their grip on the final playoff spot.
Delhi opened the scoring in the first period but the Vets fought hard, with goalie Michael Roefs facing 24 shots in net. The Travellers sealed the win with an empty netter with less than a minute of play left in the game.
With only four games left in their regular season, Woodstock will look to rebound and get their revenge in the Battle of Highway 59 when they travel to Norwich Friday night. They're back home Saturday night for another crucial match-up against Delhi.
