It's been two years since Embro hosted their annual Truck and Tractor Pull.
EMBRO - The Embro Truck and Tractor Pull is making a comeback after a two-year hiatus.
The local farmers will compete this Friday starting at 5:00 p.m.
Secretary and Volunteer Coordinator Virginia Jannsen says the sanctioned pullers from the OTTPA and Southwestern Ontario Truck and Tractor Pull Association will hit the track starting at 3:30 p.m. on the Saturday.
"The biggest and baddest machines show up, they are all highly tuned trucks and tractors and they compete to see who can pull the heaviest weight the farthest."
Jannsen says it's a family friendly event, so they will also have lots of kids activities.
"We will have the Grain Farmers of Ontario Discovery Zone trailer there both days and it has a corn box for kids to play in. We will also have Spider-Man visiting from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on both days and on Saturday we're going to have face painting for the kids from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m."
They will have a beer tent for adults 19+ and several food booths to choose from.
All of the money will be going back into the community through Oxford Junior Farmers. The event has raised thousands of dollars over the years benefitting food banks, school nutrition programs, hospitals and other local causes.
