The Woodstock Regional Fanshawe Campus is adding another location in Downtown Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Regional Fanshawe Campus is expanding into Downtown Woodstock.
They have purchased an additional site at 45 Metcalfe Street to accommodate a growing student population. Associate Dean Greg Yantz says the site will be ready for students in the Fall of 2019.
"We will be offering our academic upgrading programs, literacy and basic skills as well as our corporate training and our continuing education program there."
The new facility will provide four new classrooms and a multi purpose conference room. Yantz says they are really excited about this expansion.
"We're very excited about expanding our presence downtown. Moving into 45 Metcalfe will help increase our ability to meet the needs of clients in our continuing education and academic upgrading programming, especially given its proximity to other downtown services, including the Employment Services offices."
In the coming months, the building will undergo renovation to transition it to educational use. Yantz says the 7,200-square-foot facility will free up much needed additional academic space at the current campus at 369 Finkle Street.
"We've experienced more than 20 per cent growth in enrollment over the past two years alone," explains Yantz. "As the College continues to develop our programs and welcome more students from around the world, this expansion will help us to accommodate their needs while continuing to provide the same level of service and education that our community has come to count on."
