Donations for Operation Sharing's Food for Friends just keep going up. "That's fantastic! I didn't know that would happen, but that's great. A lot of people were putting more than a quarter in I'm sure" said Operation Sharing President Frank Smith. Customers contributed more than $6,000 at Woodstock's Foodland and Sobeys stores. An amount that Sobeys Ontario added $5,000 to, making the grand total $11,687. It's an organization that Foodland Owner Chris Chapman says they'll keep supporting: "We're food people. It just makes sense that we get involved with traditional food banks and the untraditional like what Steve Giuliano and Operation Sharing have developed." Chapman commends the unique program, "It provides a way for people to buy groceries and maintain a certain amount of dignity and allow them to buy stuff that they want and need." Smith says they use the money for food cards: "It gives us a bit extra to make sure we don't run short. We give out about $75,000 in food cards, that's a lot of money to make up." This is the fourth year the two grocery stores have supported Food for Friends. In photo left to right: Steve Giuliano, Frank Smith, Sheila Wammes, Chris Chapman
