Four Local Projects to Receive Government Funding Through Canada Infrastructure Plan

Over $4-million in Federal and Provincial funding will help support four major projects in Oxford County.

WOODSTOCK - Government funding will help support four new projects in Oxford County through the Canada Infrastructure Plan.

The Federal investment for these projects is $2,318,801; provincial funding totals $1,956,408; and recipient funding totals $1,769,293. Local MPP Ernie Hardeman says this money will be put to good use.

"I'm pleased to see these investments that will help revitalize important cultural and recreational infrastructure in Oxford. These are facilities that are and will continue to be vital to maintaining healthy lifestyles and enjoying social and recreational programs."

This money will go towards rehabilitating the Tillsonburg Community Centre, the Township of Norwich will use the funds to replace the roof of the Norwich Community Centre and Arena. Zorra Township will get some money to replace the baseball lighting system at Embro Matheson Park, including lighting controls and light posts with LED heads.

The historic Embro Highland Games and Embro Fair Field stone monument will also be restored. Beachville District Historical Society will renovate the storage spaces at Beachville District Museum to give the converted house additional structural integrity, humidity control and usable storage space.
