Understanding Harmony and Communication in the Family Business is a free presentation hosted by Woodstock Oxford Rotary.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Oxford Rotary is hosting a special event for anyone interested in learning more about Family Businesses.
Doug Vincent is a Family Business Advisor who has given this presentation across the globe.
"I don't do a lot in Ontario but I do a lot of this when I travel and is a very important component, most people don't realize that 45 percent of the fortune 500 companies are family controlled businesses. Marriott Hotels, Porsche cars, Heineken beer, a lot of big companies that we know the brand names of are actually family controlled businesses. Only a small percentage make it to the second generation successfully, and likely less than five percent make it to the third generation successfully."
Vincent says this presentation will benefit family business owners and anyone who works with them.
"Accountants, lawyers, financial advisors, insurance representatives, all deal with family business in there day to day clientele, by all means it is an opportunity for them to come out and learn the idiosyncrasies of family business and how they work."
The dinner cost $20 and the presentation is free for anyone to attend. Dinner starts at 6:30 pm at the Oxford Gardens on Devonshire Ave.
Understanding Harmony and Communication in the Family Business is happening on Wednesday at Oxford Gardens. You can register online here or over the phone by 519-537-3753 or via email at rosalindatay781@gmail.com.
