Friendly City Taekwon-Do was able to bring home 13 medals, including four gold medals, after competing at the National Championships in British Columbia last weekend.
BRITISH COLUMBIA - Twelve competitors from Friendly City Taekwon-Do flew to Vernon, British Columbia to compete at the National Championships.
They brought home 13 medals last weekend, including four gold medals.
Head Instructor Don Edminson is very proud of his team.
"I have three blue belt girls who are eight-years-old and they took home all of the medals for sparring with first, second, and third. One of those girls also won a gold medal in patterns, so she is a two-time Canadian champion."
You can find a list of all the medal winners in the Facebook post at the bottom of the article.
Edminson says would like to thank the Parent-Student Council who helped fundraise for the trip
"That helps us quite a lot with the traveling expenses. Most of the time, the kid's plane ticket and the hotel room are paid for and the parent only has to buy one ticket."
He would also like to give a special shoutout to all of their sponsors; BDO, Gryphin Advantage, Jim Laffin Financial, KC's Tool Repair, and the City of Woodstock.
Edminson says Friendly City Taekwon-Do is going to take a break from competitions this summer before they start up again in the fall.
