The letter addresses some of the challenges Oxford County is facing with the proposed landfill site in Beachville.
Oxford Conservative MPP Ernie Hardeman has sent a letter to Ontario's new Minister of Environment and Climate Change; Chris Ballard.
The letter addresses the proposed landfill site in Beachville. Hardeman tells Heart FM it highlights some of the challenges Oxford County faces; including the possible contamination of Ingersoll's main wells and the Thames River.
"We want to make sure ths Minister looks into it and gets himself aquanted with the challenges and what we've done so far and how we should proceed."
Hardeman says he wanted to send his letter in as soon as possible, so it will be sitting on Ballard's desk when he starts his new job.
"We need to get it on his radar screen as quickly as possible so it doesn't get overshadowed by other things and that things proceed alone in his absense. We want to make sure he gets on it right away."
Premier Kathleen Wynne appointed Chris Ballard as the new Environment Minister yesterday, following Glen Murray's resignation announcement.
