The first ever KidStock: A Quest To End Brain Tumours raised $5,000 and counting for the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.

WOODSTOCK - The first ever KidStock: A Quest To End Brain Tumours was a big success in the Friendly City!

Lots of people stopped by the Oxford Auditorium on Sunday, to show their support and help raise funds for the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.

Co-organizer Liz Wismer-Van Meer says they're still counting the donations, but it's looking pretty good so far.

"Right now we're looking at about $5,000 that was raised this year. Brain Canada is matching our donations in support of Dr. Michael Taylor's pediatric brain tumour research and patient care at Sick Kids in Toronto. The money we raised is actually going twice as far thanks to the support from Brain Canada."

Wismer-Van Meer adds the quest is not over yet.

"Our plans are right now that KidStock will be back next year. How it's going to look and when it's going to be those are all things that we're going to have to review, think about and talk about what's going to be best for. But KidStock: A Quest To End Brain Tumours will definitely continue in Woodstock and Oxford County."

The event celebrated the lives of local brain tumour survivors. It was also in memory of three local youth who have died in the past two years; Kay-Lynn Stevens, Xavier Garrett and Gage Foster.
